Departing Franklin, NC

I wanted to sit down and type a post before I left Franklin today to get back on the trail.  I don't know how connectivity will be as I get further along, so I figured I'd make a preemptive strike and get at least one post out today.

It's a little cooler this morning, 61F, and it is overcast.  I don't know if it is going to rain or not.  I'm hoping that it doesn't but you never know.  I'm setting myself up to do either 10 or 15 miles today, depending on how my blisters feel.  I don't want to stop at the first shelter for two reasons: 1) it's too close, I need to make it further than that, and 2) I got a text telling me that it's not a good place to stop.  So, I have to go at least 10 today.  I don't think that will be a problem, and I'm hoping that I can push it further.  That's really all there is to say today.

Before I sign off, though, just remember that today is the Anniversary of D-Day.  I'll leave you with a quote from Archbishop Fulton Sheen, "If He who valued life more than anyone else did not consider death too great a price for Him to pay to defeat evil, why should I not be prepared in His name to suffer the hardships of armed service so that evil may be conquered?" Archbishop Fulton Sheen (Wartime Prayer Book).
